Household Goods Movers Licensing/Registration Rules Proposed.
January 6, 2025
Nearly 5 years after passage in the General Assembly, the MD Department of Labor has proposed rules for the licensing of companies providing household goods moving services in the state. MMTA’s Movers Conference supported the 2019 legislation to require licensing of movers to help address the numerous industry scams where rogue operators take advantage of customers with lowball estimates, false promises, and misleading advertising. Comments on the proposal rule are due by January 2, 2025. View a copy at www.mdtrucking.org/files/ProposedHHGMovingRegs.pdf.
