MMTA Urges Governor Moore to Delay Advance Clean Trucks Rule.
January 6, 2025
In a joint letter with the MD Automobile Dealers Association, MMTA asked Governor Moore and legislative leaders to delay implementation of the Advance Clean Trucks (ACT) rule. Modeled after California, the ACT will require an increasing percentage of medium and heavy-duty truck sales to be zero emission beginning with Model Year 2027. Recognizing the significant hurdles that still exist, the Governor was asked to delay the ACT requirements until infrastructure investments, grid capacity studies, and essential support systems are firmly in place and urges him to engage in a realistic dialogue with our affected industries on how to support Maryland’s decarbonization goals.
