Citations Being Issued for Failure to Pay UCR Fees.

Reminder – all interstate motor carriers, as well as brokers, freight forwarders and leasing companies, are required to annually register and pay UCR fees. This means that even if your company never leaves the state of Maryland, but your shipment originated in or is destined for another state (including international shipments processed through U.S. ports), you must register under the UCR plan. Enforcement of UCR is on the rise. Recently one MMTA member was cited in Virginia for not being registered. You may complete your registration online at www.ucr.gov.
